The mission of the Church Committee is to initiate programs that encourage greater unity, understanding and ecumenism. By actively fulfilling our Catholic duties in charity, devotion and education, Knights sustain church doctrine and encourage more active participation by the laity in practicing their faith. Among its activities, the Church Committee sponsors the Saying of the Rosary during May and October, Communion Breakfast and organizing the annual men’s retreat.
The Community Committee’s mission is to support and contribute to the civic, social and public welfare of the community. By being active on town committees, school associations, neighborhood groups, etc. Knights are keenly aware of local and area interests and concerns. And, with their brother Knights, they are prepared to become personally involved to lead or support actions that shape and elevate the quality of life within the community. The Council Committee plans, organizes and implements programs and events to address the fraternal, cultural and social interests of the councils’ membership. Successful, relevant and diverse activities are not only important for retaining members, but they are a critical recruitment feature to interest potential members and a promotional device to welcome back former and inactive members. Frequent and opportune public relations that enhance public awareness of the Order require timely and well-planned communications within the parish and the community and is an important responsibility of the Council Committee.
Supporting healthy family life is a fundamental tenet of the Knights of Columbus. It was one of the primary objectives the Knights founder, Fr. Michael J. McGivney. Sources of strength for families are found in religious and parish life, of course, but Brother Knights and their families can
The Youth Committee sponsors activities for young men and women with the purpose of creating fun and awareness of Christian ideals. Events sponsored are spelling bee's, soccer tournament, free throw basketball events and poster contests.
